The Innoson/GTB Saga: Why Nigerians Are The Easiest People To Rule by Bayo Adeyinka

I used to think Nigeria was a very difficult country to govern. Now, I think I know better. This country is one of the easiest to rule over. Once you understand the psychology of the average Nigerian, it's easy to have a field day. This current Innoson versus GTB saga exposes the mind of the average Nigerian.

The average Nigerian has the concepts of right and wrong blurred. Right is only right when their personal rights are breached. At other times, it doesn't matter. The average Nigerian loves to get involved in fights that don't concern them. Especially when big men are involved. In Nigeria, we have little men fighting in different corners for big men. In saner climes, big men fight for their little men. We either fight for Atiku or we are throwing punches on behalf of Buhari. We shout in support of Wike or demonstrate in support of Amaechi. Meanwhile, big men never fight big men- they employ smaller men. Our leaders understand our make up perfectly. The average Nigerian loves drama. So they make sure, it is one week, one drama. Just last week, it was the hijab episode. Give a Nigerian good soap opera and he forgets his misery.

An average Nigerian doesn't really care about corruption. What he is worried about is that the crumbs are not coming his way fast enough. The Nigerian politician understands that perfectly. So they throw packs of Lipton tea and Gala at us. Some are magnanimous and they increase the crumbs to packs of Indomie 'Hungry Man' size. Others will allow the citizens enjoy free train rides. The average Nigerian loves freebies. They really don't care that there is really no freebie anywhere. It is Abu's money that is being used to give Abu a treat but Abu doesn't even care to understand. The average Nigerian doesn't have any ideology. That's why he finds it easy to explain away anything- including how politicians jump ship.

And here's the big two- tribal affiliations and religion. Our leaders understand that if you want to muddle up a case, introduce the twin evils of tribal affiliations and religion. Our colonial masters understood this strategy and used it to their advantage. Have we really considered critically what they termed 'indirect rule'? The strategy of 'indirect rule' continues till this day. While the characters have changed, the modus operandi remain the same. Even the most upright are caught in those traps at times. Here, some make very sweeping hasty generalizations- Yorubas are betrayers. Yorubas hate Igbos. Igbos are fraudsters. Hausas are the problems of Nigeria. We forget that we are all victims held together unwittingly and unwillingly in this contraption called Nigeria.

And here's where I'm going: the Innoson versus GTB case has now become a tribal issue. What was a mere business matter between two business partners has become a national trouble. Our leaders understand that we joke too much and we are never a serious minded people. Maybe that's why the comedy industry is booming even in recession. We make jokes about everything. Is it not a joke when some are encouraging others to close their GTB accounts even when they barely understand the issues on ground? Nigerians lack capacity for deep introspection, truly. So if there's a run on GTB because it is a Yoruba bank that wants to kill an Igbo business, what will happen to branches of GTB all over the South East? What will happen to the branch managers (who are most likely Igbos), the Relationship Officers, the tellers, the security men and several hundreds employed by the Bank? If you really don't care, what about those who supply products and services to GTB branches in the South East such as diesel, their kitchens and restaurants, stationeries, local artisans like electricians, carpenters and painters who are called to attend to one issue or the other? Is it not an irony of sorts that it is this same set of people who are rushing to close their accounts? A case of the real victim not knowing he's the victim- a flea attacking a dog in order to kill it but not knowing it will die before the dog! I saw a poster where an individual said he asked his two billionaire brothers to move their funds. Well, one thing he forgot is that most likely these billionaire friends of his might also be indebted to the bank. All big men use debt to expand their businesses- it's not a crime. The bigger you are, the bigger your debt usually- especially once you have demonstrated capacity. But if they want to move, they need to pay down first. It's not quite easy, you know.

The Innoson versus GTB saga should never have been a social media war. E no concern us. It's a purely business relationship gone sour between two business partners. People are too emotional rather than logical. Most of those rushing to close accounts can't even apply for a loan of N1m not to talk of N1b or more like Inmoson was given. So why are they losing sleep over matter wey no concern them? How many of them can afford to buy the least of Innoson's vehicle? Both of them will bury the hatchet and shake hands very soon. And you, O little men, will not be there. When big men shake hands, little men are never invited. Meanwhile, if Innoson has been accused of committing a financial crime, does helping the economy as a home-grown industrialist invalidate the act?

Anyway, our big men understand we don't have staying power. In a week, the music would have changed as another movie debuts.

Please I'm looking for fuel. Who has 25 liters to borrow me?

Scam Alert: This Lady was Scammed by an Instagram User, See Screenshots

Instagram has now turned to a scamming ground. These days, you don't even know whom to trust when it comes to online business again. Read the full gist as posted by Omobolanle Awoyemi on her Facebook Wall. See Screenshots below.

SCAMMER ALERT. INSTAGRAM SCAMMERS. May it not be well with all of them!

The general public is therefore warned of doing business with any vendor on IG called @uniqueladyswears_online_store whose phone no is +2348179542401.

A dear friend of mine (she has been tagged in this post) has requested I post this for her because she believes this notice will get more audience on my wall than if posted on her own wall.

Evidence of her conversations with the vendor has been attached.

Oluwadamilola made an order of two items: A slippers and a shoe. On realizing that he had been paid the money for the delivery, an evidence was a screenshot of the debit alert she got from her bank (FCMB), the scammer claimed not to have received the alert but promised to process the order when he receives the alert.

Thereafter, he asked for a delivery fee of 1K which was not in the initial agreement. My friend paid this and expected her delivery the following day. He came up with stories of how the sales team is having a problem and promised to make payment as soon as it is sorted.

Subsequent chats from my friend were received with no response, then he blocked her. She went ahead to chat with him on Whatsapp, acting as a new customer who wanted to inquire about one of his goods, which he responded to, but on knowing that she was the same person from IG, he blocked her on Whatsapp.

Upon knowing that he was been monitored via other accounts, (She had told her colleagues to chat up with the guy and act as new customers who were interested in buying items), but immediately they mentioned that he had collected money from a lady without delivery of the goods, he blocked them all and he has since made his account privates.

Note that this guy is still chatting with innocent customers from his IG page, making false promises of delivery but absconds as soon as payment is made. He uses the 'payment before delivery' to trick unsuspecting customers into sending their money before he absconds.

Please help share this post. Tag as many people, bloggers as you can. Be careful of Instagram sellers, especially those who claim to run a payment before delivery policy.

If you are a thief, who specializes in scamming innocent people of their hard-earned cash on social media, good things will henceforth cease in your life. Help would be far from you, nothing you do would ever prosper, you will live in penury all the days of your life and die wretched. Amen.

"Throw Away That Degree Otherwise You Will Die Poor” – Open Letter to Nigerian Youths

”Throw Away That Degree Otherwise You Will Die Poor” – Open Letter to Nigerian Youths" is a must read for all Youths in Nigeria.

Below is mind bugging open latter to Nigerian youths from “TIMOTHY REX GOMA”

Most of the educated people in Nigeria are poor. Majority of the educated earn less than N55,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions.

When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around N50,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions of up to N15,000 leaving the salary at around N35,000. The landlord then demands for his N15,000 and monthly shopping takes away N10,000 leaving one with a N10,000.

The bus will demand for N300 going to and from work and relatives get another N2,500. The whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances.

The difference between poverty and prosperity is property. A prosperous person has property to his name while a poverty stricken person has no property to show. Using this understanding, therefore, most of the degree holders are poverty stricken, borrowing money to buy chicken and chips, pizza, and a car.

The biggest excuse for getting paid such low amounts of money and having to sit and work for another person for 30 days is THE DEGREE that one possesses and that’s all.

This has made most of the degree holders very poor to poverty stricken and will die that way most likely. A degree holder does not know how to generate money unless that money is generated for the employer. A degree holder is so dependent on the salary that he can do anything to get a job but will not think of starting a business of his own to employ others.

Interesting Facts!

1. A degree holder is not prepared to sell chips but is very happy to work for hungry lion (companies).

2. A degree holder is not prepared to sell popcorn in the street but is very happy to work for Dangote outlet in the city and mum river-sides.

3. A degree holder is not prepared to sell second hand clothes but is very happy to be employed by Zenith Bank which the business of selling stocks and looking for customers in a scorching Sun.

4. A degree holder is not prepared to make N150,000 monthly doing his own business but is very happy to work at the till in a bank getting paid N25,000.

5. A degree holder is not prepared to start a company and grow it in two to three years but will spend three years searching for a job.

6. A degree holder is not prepared to sell food to students but will be happy to be reporting to a boss with no qualifications as Office Assistant as long as he is paid N30,000 for a salary.

7. A degree holder is so eager to get out of this country and work in another country than spend time to develop his own country.

8. A degree holder staying in a foreign land (Nigerian) is very keen to condemn Nigeria but never contributing to the development of this country.

9. A Nigerian degree holder would rather sweep the streets of London or USA than start a business to make money in her father land – others work in people’s homes doing some work (cleaners).

10. A degree holder in Nigeria will watch porn on his laptop but never sit to write a book using the same laptop to sell and make money.

11. A degree holder will blame the government for lack of jobs even after he was on government bursary for him to have his degree.

12. Nigeria is blessed with young people who have master’s degree and others are doctors in different technical fields such as IT and Engineering but all of them have failed to create a cartoon character or develop a movie from the same instead very happy to buy Tom and Jerry for their children thereby promoting American and UK.

A school I visit, there is a man that is of very humble background. He does not speak English but sells Coke, Fanta and Sprite at N80 each making a profit of N10 on each drink. He also sells chips at N50 making a profit of N17 on each portion. Not less than 80 students buy chips and a drink every single day. This means he makes a profit of N27 for a drink and chips and a total profit of N2,160 per day…every single day. In ten days he makes a profit of N21,600 in twenty days N43,200 and in thirty days N64,800.

The degree holder working in a bank at the till gets a salary of N45,000 every month.

Why are the degree holders poor?

Because they have decided to pride themselves in a degree and failed to think better than a man who does not have even a certificate to his name.

Degree holders spend their time liking articles on linkedIn and facebook but never have any care in the world to implement what they like. Poverty starts from the mind, a mind that just likes things but never to implement those things.

If you want to progress, keep that degree and start thinking better than someone without a degree. There’s no white collar Job anywhere bro!

Be prepared to get your hands dirty and work like an ox for your business. Your hard work will pay off.

Yours Sincerely. ..

A Guide To Gift Giving

Whether it’s a birthday gift, a wedding gift, a gift to celebrate a newborn baby, or a “just thinking of you” kind of gift, buying for someone who already has it all can be challenging. Making sure that you purchase a well thought out, personal, and unique gift is no easy task especially in today’s society.

Guide to gifts, personalising gift, gifts

Nowadays anyone can buy themselves anything they’d like at almost any given moment. Online shopping should be great for gift giving but somehow it’s only made it that much more difficult. By the time someone’s birthday comes around they’ve already bought themselves everything they’ve ever wanted! That’s why it’s key to getting a unique and meaningful gift. A great way to do that is by purchasing personalized gifts.

One of the best places to buy personalized gifts has got to be Personalization Mall! They make it easy to get a unique and memorable gift at affordable prices. They even make it easy to shop, you can look at items based on occasion, who it’s for, and type of product. Personalize everything from jewelry and home decor to keepsakes, wall art, mugs, desks accessories, and more! Got a new baby coming in the family? Give the sweet bundle of a joy a soft, cozy embroidered blanket with their name on it--a gift that will bring them comfort now and for years to come.

Personalization Mall also offer gifts for high school and college graduates, moms and dads on their respective holidays, and of course for your partner on Valentine’s Day. Shop for gifts for anniversaries, weddings, housewarming parties, funerals and sympathy, and so much more! Shipping is quick, and they even offer gift wrapping and direct shipping to loved ones who are too far to give their gift to them in person. Perfect for long distance relationships and families across the globe!

Another great way to make sure you’re getting the best gift possible for the person you’re buying for is by shopping at Overstock.com. There you can get just about anything and everything! You can get something more useful and practical for someone in your family or close circle of friends. Or you can buy them beautiful decor and jewelry, whatever you think they’d enjoy most. Before we move on let’s talk about one more place that’s just amazing for gift giving --  Uncommon Goods. They offer incredibly unique gift options that you won’t find anywhere else. Perfect for shopping for that person on your list who already seems to have everything!

Well all know that with online shopping and quick shipping that most online shops offer these days--sometimes every day feels like Christmas. But if you really take your time, do your research, and figure out what gift would make the recipient’s face light up, then all the effort you put into the gift will be worth it. Part of the joy of gift-giving is the warm feeling of satisfaction when you see the person open it up, watch their smile spread across their face, and see the gratitude in their eyes. That feeling is almost better than getting a gift yourself!

Strive Masiyiwa, Nigeria, Africa, Entrepreneurs

Today, his post again, gained so much reactions as he declares to give two outstanding Entrepreneurs $100,000 each.

Find his post as posted by him below:

Now for some news you've been waiting for...
__Who will work for me in January?

Next week we'll finally launch the competition to choose two people who will be the inaugural Kwesé Entrepreneur Fellows. Working from the Kwesé offices in Johannesburg, they'll win an opportunity to interact with me and some of my team on a daily basis.

These two people (one of whom must be a woman) will also be given an opportunity to pitch for a $100,000 investment into their idea (business or social).

(We hoped to get started earlier this year, but putting together a process has not been easy because we've all been very busy!)

Anyway, in preparation let me tell the people who are interested in participating, they must appreciate that it will be a very rigorous process!

Anyone can win (they don't have to be university graduates or highly educated, or even have an existing enterprise of their own). We are interested in someone who is very hard working, methodical and diligent.

The eventual two winners will be selected by followers on this platform acting as a "Shark Tank" type panel, who will then (like investors) vote for whom they think I should give $100,000.

Contestants will be taken through a two-stage process in which they must show complete knowledge about Kwesé services, based on what I have said about them, and what is on all our websites. They will need to have a very good understanding of Kwesé programming. You don't have to own a decoder to have such knowledge as all the information is on our websites and Apps.

If a participant gets to Stage Two by passing the programming test (a series of four quizzes over several weeks) then they will then be required to prepare a pitch on their own business or social enterprise in a short video.

If you or someone you know is interested, they can begin right away to prepare for Stage One. The information on the quizzes is available to those who can study and answer questions (which will be posted regarding on knowledge from these three websites and apps):

# Kwese.com
# Kwese.Espn.com
# Kwesefied.com
# Kwesé app
# Kwesé Free Sport app

People who have Kwesé decoders can also participate in this competition by going to the Kwese.com website where the questions will be posted.

# Remember anyone can answer these questions. You don't have to be in Africa to participate. You can attempt from anywhere in the world. And if you win, we will bring you to Africa!

We will pay the full cost of tickets and accommodation during the two week stay with our organization.

Let the battle begin!

End.

I believe you can win this. Apply and Win as Strive Masiyiwa to give $100000 to two young entrepreneurs in Africa. I hope this post is helpful. Good luck.

5 Things You Must Avoid if You Want to Build a Sustainable Business in Africa

Are you a startup in Nigeria or African Continent? You wouldn't want to make the same mistakes past business owners make. That's why we I have compiled 5 Things you must do if you want to build a sustainable business in Africa. Don't worry, you don't need to pay for this *winks*.

Business mistakes

1. Avoid Poor Succession Planning

Africans commonly don't prefer to contemplate things like death, hardship, etc.
While no one would wish for incident or demise, they're some of life's dangers and substances. Also, we should dependably consider, and get ready for them. In any case, while human life is limited and helpless against death and disaster, a business can "hypothetically" live for eternity.

In reality, making arrangements for progression doesn't need to be intense and convoluted, as most business people think. The mystery is to make the conscious decision, and start the procedure early.

The best time to discover a successor with the correct level of duty, vision and energy to lead a business past the lifetime of the organizer isn't the point at which the originator resigns or is on his/her deathbed.

Finding the correct successor to steer of a business is a cognizant, think and ascertained process (or choice) that ought not be left to shot, or crisis or circumstances.

All things considered, the prior the procedure of succession arranging is begun in the life of a business, the better.

2. Small Business Thinking and Inability to Prospect in Business Expansion

Quit Thinking Small, You Too Can Become Great By Choice There's no wrongdoing in beginning little.

Most organizations begin little. Frequently, the mix-up is remaining little and disregarding potential outcomes for development. Numerous African organizations stay little all through the lifetime of the organizer. What's more, I think one key purpose behind this is many organizers in Africa think little.

What stops that little corner shop from turning into a national or worldwide establishment? Why can't that prevalent neighborhood item or administration that you give turn into a national brand?

Did you realize that Coca-Cola was at first created as a patent solution; a remedy that guaranteed to cure morphine compulsion and cerebral pains? This dim hued drink, created by a neighborhood drugstore proprietor in 1885, has now turned into a tremendously fruitful worldwide brand – an easygoing beverage that now epitomizes fun, companionship and refreshment!

By preparing to stun the world, the conceivable life expectancy of your business naturally increments. Development and extension are goals that could take a few eras to fulfill, and grasping this vision can wipe out foolishness and increment your mindset of conceivable outcomes.

The best part: thinking little – like planning for an impressive future – costs nothing. Do what needs to be done!

3. Lack of structure and business frameworks

One key quality of fruitful Sustainable organizations, particularly those that have existed through a few eras, is the presence of a reasonable structure and business frameworks that assistance the business to work viably.

Structure is basic to each well-run business since it gives arrange, allots duties regarding key exercises, and enhances responsibility. Actually, numerous African organizations can't work freely of the organizer.

For instance, if the organizer is away for any reason, or inaccessible to sign checks, providers and workers may not get paid on time. In the event that she doesn't OK a give, it's probably going to fail to work out. His inclusion in the business is regularly so central and too personal that it hinders everything.

Business frameworks are likewise imperative. What number of medium-sized organizations in Nigeria really have approaches and methods that oversee everything from enlistment, representative direct, fund and bookkeeping, among others?

What number of organizations really stay up with the latest records of their exercises, including complete data about operations, accounts, exchanges, clients, providers, representatives and everything else?

It's not shocking then that the most basic data and records concerning most organizations are housed in the leaders of their originators. They appear to be the main ones who know where everything ought to be and how the business should run.

With this sort of 'composed mayhem', it's practically difficult to bear on a business when the almighty founder is all of a sudden inaccessible.

4. Incognizant in regards to business patterns and changes

Another solid component of organizations that last past an era is their capacity to adjust. In a universe of continually evolving markets, customer patterns, socio-political impacts and by and large disruption, adaptation is a key strength of organizations that will survive today and later on.

It's a basic govern; adjust or pass on!

Numerous organizations assume that they've discovered a recipe for progress that will stay viable for a thousand years. Enormous lie.

Business people are regularly excessively centered around maintaining their organizations that they don't set aside the opportunity to investigate the separation to think, distinguish present and future dangers or dangers that could essentially influence their business, or more regrettable still, show them bankrupt.

In the present globalized and interconnected world, one troublesome thought or business in a faraway nation can absolutely change the scene of your industry or market so quick you may never discover an opportunity to think or plan.

Investigating the future, and watching changes and patterns in both the nearby and worldwide commercial center has turned out to be progressively imperative for African business visionaries and organizations. With a developing number of remote organizations and brands growing their impression in Africa, even little family-possessed corner shops and neighborhood organizations may not be saved.

To get by in this season of quick change, business visionaries should be liberal and must not underestimate everything. Not at all like a couple of decades back, no business is too enormous to come up short nowadays. One minimal obscure startup could have your business for lunch in case you're not set up to adjust.

Among a few others, über is one run of the mill case of a remote problematic thought/business that is changing the scene of business crosswise over Africa – urban transport, for this situation. Gradually, über is gobbling up the piece of the overall industry of customary city taxis crosswise over Africa, and giving new chances to anybody to enter the market.

My advice: stay up to date about improvements in your market and industry, both locally and all around. Search out creative ways and advancements to make your business run all the more proficiently; make your items and administrations more profitable; keep your representatives submitted and compelling; and enhance the fulfillment of your clients.

5. A predominant "way of life" attitude

The business reasoning of the normal African business person In this piece of the world and achievement of a business is frequently observed by numerous business people as an order to shore up their way of life. Favor cars and homes, globetrotting, costly apparel, luxurious spending, and extravagant presentations of riches are very normal.

The primary is distraction. The reserves you're utilizing to shore up your way of life can really be committed to enhancing and growing the business into a significantly greater achievement. Those assets could likewise be utilized for key ventures that broaden or merge the business, making it more grounded and stronger. In this way, utilizing continues from the business to praise your "prosperity" is truly an indication of little considering.

The second is you're sending the wrong signals to your representatives and potential successors. Individuals are viewing. In the event that you treat the professional an ATM, it will be truly hard for any other person to deal with the business with perseverance and judiciousness.

On the off chance that we see a business as an advantage that ought to be supported and extended past our lifetime, possibly we wouldn't do our best to drain the life out of it, or simply consider it to be an apparatus to serve our way of life needs.

Bringing together everything…

Africa can have its own IBMs, Coca-Colas, Fords and Nestlés. In any case, it won't occur by possibility. Business visionaries on the landmass need to take fast, consider and ascertained strides to explore the barricades and dangers I've imparted to you in this article.

Nigeria has a few exceptional items that can possibly wind up noticeably worldwide brands and manufacture universal companies. While they could end up noticeably worldwide brands all the same, with or without African business people, we should can pull this off ourselves.

How The Bank Deceives You

Good day friends,

I think you should read this. Information is what you need to succeed.

How do banks deceive people?

Let's figure out quietly and without haste. But you have to strain your brains. It's not easy to unravel in a couple of minutes those things which have been tangled during the centuries by the best sophisticated minds of mankind, seeking only wealth accumulation for their personal needs.

Let’s make an example. Let it be an Adam and Steven and let it be Leonard, a banker of Adam and Steven. They both keep their money in his bank. Adam really wants to buy... well, let's say, Steven’s bicycle but he has no money. More precisely, he has money, but not enough—only $10, while Steven wants as much as $100 for his precious bicycle. That is a problem!

What is Adam going to do? He gives Steven his $10 as a deposit and asks not to sell the bike to anyone. He says that he will bring the remaining sum soon. In the meantime he runs to his bank, to the respected Leonard, to get a loan for the missing $90.

NNPC said in a statement by its Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Ohi Alegbe, that  the special supply intervention entails the ramping up of additional supply via massive truck-out to guarantee product penetration to the nooks and crannies of the country.
The corporation stated that daily fuel truck out to locations such as Abuja,
