Fayose: APC will fail woefully in the July 14

Fayose: Ekiti APC is a house divided against itself, it will fail woefully on July 14

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the violence that marred today’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the State as shameful and a clear indication that “the APC will fail woefully in the July 14 governorship election because apart from its rejection be Ekiti people, the party has become a house divided against that can never hold.”

Governor Fayose, who reacted through his Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said; “The whole world can now see the so-called progressives. Ordinary primary election, they can't hold. It is shameful!”

He said “if the party could be this violent during their own primary election, won't they
do worse things during the election proper?

“INEC should therefore be mindful of being used to manipulate the July 14 election in favour of APC because the party has today, lost the election by the open advertisement of its anti-democratic credentials.”

Governor Fayose, who reiterated that APC was a party of hypocrites and anti-democratic elements, masquerading as progressives, added that “A party, who uses guns and machetes to settle minor political disagreements among its members as done in Ado Ekiti today, in the full glare of the public, will use grenades and missiles to confront inter-party issues.”

Fayemi, not Fayose, bars from holding public office in Ekiti

Multi-Billion Naira Fraud: Ekiti bars Fayemi, other from holding public offices in state

A White Paper released by Ekiti State Government has barred a former governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, from holding a public office in the state for 10 years.

The state also barred his former Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Kolawole, for the same number of years.

The duo were barred based on the report of the Ekiti Judicial Commission of Inquiry, which indicted them over alleged mismanagement of the state’s finances between October 2010 and 2014.

Fayemi, now a Minister of Mines and Steel Development, was the governor during the stated period.

The report declared them “as unfit to hold any public office in the state.‎”
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Ekiti State Government to look into the financial transactions of the state under the administration of Dr. Fayemi had said that the former governor must refund a sum of N2.75 billion allocated from the N25 billion bond obtained by the government for the execution of contract for the construction of Ultra-Modern market in Ado Ekiti, which was never executed.

The commission of inquiry also said that the contractor in respect of the furnishing of the government house built by the Fayemi’s administration should be made to refund a sum of N324.8 million, noting that the contract should not have been more than N280 million.

The panel said it found out that KITWOOD Nigeria Limited to which the furnishing contract of over N600 million was awarded had no traceable address and that “the address on the Letter of Award is a virgin land at opposite the new Central Bank along new Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti.

These and several other revelations were made known when the commission of inquiry submitted its report to the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose. The panel was headed by Justice Silas Oyewole (rtd).

On the purchase of vehicles, the panel said “claim by Coscharis Motors that it supplied 235 and/or 250 vehicles was fraudulent and that fraught with so many contradictions.

“That Coscharis Motors supplied some vehicles outside Ekiti State especially, at Ibadan Liaison office when Ekiti State Government does not have a Liaison office in Ibadan. In respect of this, seven vehicles were supplied outside the State and signed for by unknown persons.

That Coscharis Motors only supplied 219 vehicles to the Ekiti State government and that 17 Joylong Buses were supplied to the Ekiti State Government as gift but later carted away.”

On the controversial N852.9 State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) fund, the commission said it was clear that the Government of Dr Fayemi hoodwinked the federal government into paying its own matching grant by obtaining N852, 936,783.12 loan from Access Bank on November 25, 2013 without perfecting documentation in respect of the loan, thereby flouting the provisions of Section 11(2) of the UBEC Act, 2004.

Gov. Fayose addresses the people of Ekiti for the New Year

NEW YEAR BROADCAST BY HIS EXCELLENCY, DR. PETER AYODELE FAYOSE, GOVERNOR TO THE PEOPLE OF EKITI STATE ON JANUARY 1, 2018.

Good people of Ekiti State,

I give thanks to the Almighty God for conducing this opportunity for me to address you on this significant milestone of a New Year 2018.
This milestone is significant to me, as you are aware, that this will be my last New Year address to you as Governor of Ekiti State. To God be the glory now and forever more.

I am grateful to you my good people of Ekiti State for giving me the rare opportunity to govern this State for a second term. It has afforded me the opportunity to consolidate on the achievements of the past and correct some erroneous impressions and deliberate mischiefs peddled against me towards the twilight of my first coming.

I thank our Royal Highnesses, Elder Statesmen, Community and Religious Leaders, Market Women, Artisans, Okada Riders, Members of the Transport Union who turned out enmasse to vote for me in the election that produced me as Governor, a second time, after eight years of forced exit.

I thank the Public Service, members of the Organized Private Sector, the Legislative arm of government, members of the State Executive Council and indeed the Judiciary.

I thank the Youth, Students and of course children for their demonstration of love and support for me as was witnessed during the last few weeks when I went round the State to give out Christmas and New Year gifts to our people.

In not too distant future, I hope to embark on a farewell tour of our State, to thank you all for the priviledge given to me to lead you.

My dear people, I have a sense of fulfillment as I proceed to complete the two tenures of my mandate. God has helped me to justify the huge confidence reposed in me.

I have opened up the horizon of Ekiti State from a rustic countryside to an emerging urban centre in the provisions of infrastructure notably in road construction, public buildings and socio economic transformation generally.

During my first tenure in office, I started the dualization of the Ado-Ekiti major motor ways. My government, during this second term, has been able to extend the dualization of roads to most of our Local Government headquarters.

The icing on the cake is the construction of the multibillion Naira 1.3km Ado-Ekiti overhead carriage which now links Fajuyi park, flying over the Okesa market to the Ojumose road axial.

I am also happy to remark that the public building projects which we started during my first tenure in places like the Government House, the State Secretariat and the Trade Fair Arena, to mention but a few, have continued with a new Governor’s office, a befitting complex for the Judiciary and a new residential apartment for the Speaker of the House of Assembly. My Government will complete these projects including the ultra-modern market in Ado-Ekiti.

The Adunni Olayinka Multipurpose Women Development Centre was built during this second tenure by my government to provide guidance and counseling and other support services for women and children.

We decided to name the edifice after a Former Deputy Governor produced by an opposition party to underscore our commitment to politics without bitterness.

Aside these monumental infrastructural projects, my government has also undertaken far-reaching human and human capital development programmes which has impacted positively as could be seen in recent rankings of Ekiti State performances in competitive national Examinations and other human development indexes. For instance, our State recorded the first position consecutively in 2016 and 2017 in the National Examination Council (NECO) assessments for Secondary Schools in Nigeria.

I have asked that these landmark achievements be put together in a compendium which shall be presented to the people of our State at the point of my exit.

On the other hand, my government has had a fair share of moments of challenges and travails. I should also thank my adversaries, including my virulent critics for expressing their views and perspectives on my person, my style and on my government.

I consider this as part of nation building as we cannot have same views and attitudes on issues of development and progress.

I have seen all attacks, jibes and vituperations as rights of individuals and groups to express themselves as guaranteed by the Nigeria Constitution.

Consequently, I owe neither grudge nor malice against anyone. My government had not for once intimidated, harassed or used the instrument of State against any real or perceived opponents. Instead, I have always believed in dialogue and the inclusion of all in governance.

Fellow citizens, the last few years of this government had not been very smooth. Ekiti State was not immuned from the consequences of the national economic recession besetting our country.

This together with the huge debt burden which we inherited from the administration of Governor Former Kayode Fayemi actually made it very difficult for us to meet up with certain basic obligations particularly in the payment of workers remunerations. We have however tried our best within the limits of available resources.

I like to put it on record that my administration did not commit this State to any indebtedness despite the financial challenges that confronted us. Let me also state that the Federal Government made available, a facility of N10 billion to each State of the Federation, for capital development.

This had been netted against our equitable shares from the Excess Crude Account (ECA). I am happy to state that the portion for Ekiti State had been judiciously deployed for monumental capital development projects including the Ado-Ekiti overhead road, the new Ado market among others.

We ran an open government by which the cross section of the populace is involved in the mobilisation and expenditure of public funds.

In the New Year, we shall continue in that same style and redouble our efforts as I do not want to leave Ekiti Government House as debtor of salaries.

I am not also unmindful of the yearnings and aspirations of our people in other arrears of government responsibilities but we can only do one thing at a time. The insufficiency of today will turn out to be abundance of tomorrow if we can improve on our efforts and dedication. Let us keep hope alive and continue to support government in all its endeavours.

During the out-going year, we took the bull by the horn by confronting headlong, security issues that confronted our State especially the menaces of abductors, kidnappers and cultists. Also we tackled the nefarious activities of cattle rearers. We have put in place appropriate legal and structural frameworks to silence those anti-social behaviours permanently. We have made significant progress along these lines.

I am sure that history and posterity will remember us for good in all these strides.

Good people of Ekiti State, let us enter the New Year with joy and gratitude to God. Let us renew our faith and hope in a better tomorrow. The greatest thing that has happened to us is the identity that we have in a State of our own.

Ekiti has been led by different leaders and Political Parties but the people remain the common denominator and will be able to discern their friends from pretenders. Now I belief you know the true patriots and lovers of this State.

It is time for us to have continuity and stability at the political front. We have lots of lessons to learn from Lagos State which has put its economic endowment in the hands of competent and stable managers over time, using the same political platform.

It is certain that continuity has the capacity to secure for us landmark and sustainable development.

I urge you all to support me and my party - the Peoples Democratic Party - to transit and produce the next leadership for this State. Economic and Social Development are veritable outcomes of very sound, consistent and stable political superstructure.

Once again, I thank you all for the journey so far while I look forward for more cooperation from you in the New Year.

Thank you, happy New Year and May God bless us all.

100 days of President Muhammadu Buhari abroad: Nigerians didn't vote for a fragile picture-posing foreign-based mannequin to be a President - Fani Kayode

President Muhammadu Buhari has been away from our shores for over 100 days in a stretch treating an undisclosed and mysterious illness in far-away London.

Since May 29th 2015 when he was sworn into office as President he has spent 350 of his over 740 days in power abroad treating the same strange ailment.

Those that demand that he should “resume or resign” are being attacked and brutalised by security forces and agents of the state.

The Buhari government is a murderous contraption that has no respect for human rights and civil liberties.

Charly Boy Oputa, Deji Adeyanju, Ariyo Dare- Atoye, Jude Ndukwe and other notable figures and leaders of the “Our Mumu Don Do” movement were brutalised and almost murdered by Buhari’s savage footsoldiers at Wuse Market in Abuja the other day simply because they dared to go on a demonstration and ask for the President to “resume or resign”.

If that had happened Nigeria would have exploded yet no arrests have been made and the government seems unperturbed.

Tension has gripped the land as we approach October 1st and the Nigerian people have expressed deep concern about what is unfolding yet all we are fed with on a daily basis are pictures of an ailing Buhari, posing like a fading and ageing Playboy model, holding court in London and granting audience to his friends, political associates, family members and loyalists.

The whole thing is not only inappropiate and undignified but it is also deeply insulting. Simply put it is sordid. The Nigerian people never banked on or voted for a fragile picture-posing foreign-based mannequin to be their President.

Meanwhile the world laughs us to scorn and mocks our nation as one in which even a walking corpse that is clearly suffering from dementia can lead and hold sway.

We are a nation in which an Acting President who is scared of his own shadow, who appears to have lost touch with his senses and who has forgotten the history and heritage of the people that he supposedly represents, has been reduced to a mere national co-ordinator and that is in the power of a faceless and tiny cabal of neo-nazi racists, religious bigots and power-hungry geriatrics.

The truth is that we are now a full-fledged dictatorship that is being controlled and presided over by a tiny cabal with a religious and ethnic agenda.

This, together with an unrelenting, though unsuccessful attempt, to demonise and crush the traditional opposition and silence all forms of dissent has resulted in the irresistable rise of powerful and well-organised secessionist and separatist groups such as the Yoruba Liberation Command (YOLICOM) and the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The fact that the Federal Government is incapable of encouraging national cohesion and integration but is instead saddled with a morbid obsession to try to destroy President Goodluck Jonathan and rubbish his excellent legacy speaks volumes.

The lies and propaganda of the Buhari administration are second to none. Simply put they are filled with deceit, deception, mendacity and hate.

They have sought to demonise and destroy more innocent Nigerians than any other Government in our entire history.

They have killed more innocent Nigerians than any other Government in our history outside of the civil war.

They have locked up more innocent Nigerians and subjected them to shameful and barbaric witchunts and media trials than any other civilian Government in the history of our country.

Under them murderous soldiers slaughtered over 1000 Shia Muslims in one afternoon in Zaria and buried them in mass graves.

Under them thousands of IPOB youths have been butchered by security agents.

Under them hundreds of thousands of innocent Nigerians have been raped, maimed, robbed and massacred by well-armed, well-funded and well-organised Fulani militias and herdsmen all over the country yet not one of the perpetrators has been arrested or brought to justice simply because they are members of the President’s ethnic group and they are his loyal footsoldiers.

Under them Boko Haram has resurrected, restored its fortunes and won back virtually all the territory that they had lost when President Goodluck Jonathan was in power.

Under them more Christians have been butchered and more Churches burnt down than any other Govermment in the history of Nigeria.

Under them northern youths have given a chilling quit notice to our Igbo compatriots to leave the north. They have also threatened them with genocide and mass murder if they fail to do so by Octobr 1st yet not one of those murderous youths has been aprrehended, questioned or arrested.

Under them a frightful and barbaric song has been crafted and is being shared and sang all over the north which openly calls for the ethnic cleansing and total elimination and annihilation of every Igbo in the country yet the song has not been outlawed or banned and its authors have not been arrested.

Under them a culture of silence and fear has been imposed on the Nigerian people and few are ready to risk life, limb and liberty by speaking truth to power or resisting and standing up to tyranny.

Under them the worst economic recession that we have ever experienced in our history has been established and the Nigerian people have been afflicted with pain, hunger, hardship, suffering, poverty, uncertainty and despair.

Under them cows (yes cows!) have taken over our city streets, schools and places of worship and the lives of cattle are deemed to have more value than that of human beings.

There is no gain saying that Buhari and his followers are not only a curse and a terrible affliction on our nation but they are also a very real danger to our unity as a people.

Their objective appears to be to turn Nigeria into a nation of quislings and vassals and a colony of pliant and cowardly slaves.

They refer to every northern Muslim that resists their evil agenda and that does not support them as a traitor and an infidel and they refer to every southerner and Christian as a slave and an unbeliever.

Their’s is the language of hate, violence and division and it must be condemned and resisted by all men and women of goodwill regardless of their faith and ethnicity.

More than any other Government in our entire history the Buhari administration has divided us along ethnic, religious and regional lines and they don’t appear to give a hoot about the implications of doing so.

As a matter of fact the contrary is the case: they appear to enjoy doing it and they feed on the dangerous divisions that they have created.

As regards Buhari himself, I have said it before and I will say it again: he is the darkness that seeks the darkness and the most divisive and destructive leader that Nigeria has ever known. He is the quintessential biblical Amalekite and the classical “troubler of Israel”.

The Bible says “the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel” and Buhari is cruel indeeed. As a matter of fact he is not human and he is incapable of exhibiting any form of genuine compassion or kindness.

He is a demonic incarnate. He is what the great writer and historian David Icke describes as “a shape-shifting reptilian” with sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies.

Cold-blooded and ruthless, he thrives in the shadows and he is led and guided by the dark spiritual forces and entities that brought him into this world to do havoc.

And like all reptilians, to maintain his human form he drinks human blood and eats human flesh.

Simply put he is a wicked and unrelenting sadist whose failures as President are glaring and manifest for all to see.

Worse of all, he hates the children of God and despises the forces of light. Malevolence is his forte and destruction is his delight.

He thrives on both and he feeds on the energy, essence, glory and souls of his innocent victims.

May the Ancient of Days deliver our country from his evil clutches and may the Lord of Hosts save us from those that regard and worship him as a living and cultic deity.

Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following.

So obsessed, so primitive, so provincial, so evil, so insensitive, so petty, so cruel, so crude, so paranoid, so deluded, so out of touch with reality, so reckless, so hateful and so obsessed with President Jonathan and the PDP is the Buhari Presidency that they went as far as to say that the great lady and former Minister of Information Mrs. Dora Akunyili was sent to her premature death and early grave because she was given a job by the former President.

Never in the history of our nation has such a vicious, nonsensical, baseless, malevolent and specious mendacity been pronounced by an official of the Federal Government.

One wonders whether Buhari and his minions have any shame? One wonders whether they have any respect for the dead?

One wonders whether they are not all suffering from dementia like Buhari is himself?

One wonders if they have any decency or humanity left in the deeper recesses of their antedeluvian and pyschotic souls?

Nevermind the fact that the statement was issued by a very junior staff of the Presidency who I gather is as much of a palm-wine guzzling low-life and woman of easy virtue as she is an ugly old drunkard: the truth is that she looks and reasons like a blood-swirling ritualist and the product of an incestuos union. Imagine having to come home to that every night?

Yet whatever she is, whatever she drinks, whatever she smokes, whoever her parents are, whichever poor soul she goes home to every night and however repugnant her looks may be the fact remains that what she has said is morally reprehensible.

It is also a clear reflection of the callousness, the grave psychological degeneration and the deep intellectual bankruptcy of the Buhari administration.

Whatever Buhari and his minions may feel about Jonathan, the People’s Democratic Party or anyone else they should please leave Dora Akunyili out of it because this profoundly good lady that brought joy to the hearts of so many is not here to speak for or defend herself.

They should allow this great daughter of Nigeria who was not only my colleague in the Obasanjo administration over ten years ago but who also served our nation honorably and creditably through the auspices of no less than three PDP President’s and Federal Governments to continue to rest in peace.

Buhari and his staff talking about Dora is like the the devil talking about an angel. They are not fit to mention her name or to lick the bottom of her shoes.

My Precious: a goddess Poem to the wife of Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has showered an encomium on his wife, Precious Chikwendu Fani-Kayode, after winning an award as the Most Influential Beauty Queen in Nigeria. The award was powered by TheGuardian to celebrate real women with true stories. Get some parts for your Precious too. Fine the Poem below.

My Precious, my soul-mate, my wife, my friend, the mother of my beautiful son Aragorn and the one that brings me joy.

The one that gives me strength and offers me hope. The one that stood with me before my accusers and laughed them to scorn.

The one that renews my youth, that makes me smile and that expands the horizons of my inner-most thoughts. The African Khaleesi: the Mother of Dragons.

The Regent of the Western shores of Westoroth and the Guardian of the Iron Throne. The Elf Queen of Gondor and the Shieldmaiden of Rohan. The Protector of the Shire and the beloved of Aragorn.

The one that is cloaked in God’s glory and favor, that wields the razor-sharp two-edged sword and that is known as Queen of the Kingdom and the Daughter of Zion.

The one that wears the glistening crown, that bears the ring of power, that is blessed with splendor and honor and that is worthy of adoration and worship.

The one that blossoms with the fragrance of a thousand daffodils, a touch of poppy-seed and the scent of Alliage perfume.

The one who wines and dines with gods and giants in the halls of Elysium and who dances like Arwen in the fields of Lothlorien.

The one whose beauty is stunning and relentless and who carries the glory of the sun and the moon.

The one that is a special gift from the Ancient of Days, whose blood is royal blue, who wears the purple robe and who carries the mantle of a future Queen.

The one that refuses to tremble at the lion’s roar or to quiver before the raging storm. The one that dared satan to do his worse and that, in total faith, took the Lord God of Hosts at His word.

The one whose fortitude and courage is simply inexplicable and whose strength of character, firm resolve and iron will is incomprehensible.

The one who stood firm like the Rock of Gibraltar when all others fled and fell. The one that harbored no fears and doubts: that walked with titans and that danced with the immortals.

The one that is as refreshing and reinvigorating as the morning dew. The one that conjures love with her simple and innocent smile. The one whose noble birth gives her an edge over others.

The one whose integrity, character, honor and heritage is unquestionable and unimpeachable and whose loyalty is as constant as the northern star.

The one whose beauty surpasses all others and whose noble qualities leaves lesser mortals standing. The one whose purity dispels the darkness, who brings life and hope and who is the beloved of the Lord.

My Precious, you are a rare gem though you may not even know it: a rare gem that is encrusted in topaz, sprinkled with diamonds, clothed with emeralds and crowned with the finest gold.

You are envied by most yet loved by many: let not your joy be cut short. Let not another take your beautiful crown. Let not your glory and your star be dimmed.

Let not sorrow and doubt blight your love or dim your purpose and vision. You were born to be a Queen: settle not for less and cultivate the firm resolve to make the necessary sacrifices to satisfy your calling.

Do not look for the crown for it shall surely look for you and, as it was with Esther, in God’s time, it shall surely find you.

Activate your faith and, like the true Queen that you are, remain aloof, shun the crowd, defend the weak, stand up for justice, help the poor, counsel mercy and immerse yourself in righteousness, knowledge, understanding, sobriety and true humility.

Clothe yourself with grace and prepare to receive, for the Lord has already given you the land and all the fat and goodness that springs forth from within it.

The matter is settled. You need not struggle. Your beauty and purity in body, spirit and soul surpasses all others.

You deserve the best. Yours are men of power and learning: men with vision and that are blessed with keen and bright minds. Men that are filled with the Spirit of the Living God and that will bow to none.

Yours are Kings and Presidents: men of authority and destiny and not just mediocre mortals who toil to build, nurture and sustain their worldly empires and their ephemeral wealth.

You were not crafted for the benefit of traders and merchants but rather to the glory of God and for the joy of the King: the Lord’s beloved.

You are a Queen of noble and royal birth and you are graced with a royal mien and a regal disposition. The world can hold nothing back from you because the Lord has already spoken and given it all to you.

It is just a matter of time. It is your destiny, your glory, your star, your future, your role and your purpose and it was ordained before the oracles of time. Let not sorrow or sadness take it away from you.

Hear not the whispering voice of doubt and fear because, as long as He is with you, you cannot fail. Rebuke the enemy, go forth boldly in the name of the Lord and take what is yours.
Don’t let them rob you.

Stand on the prophecy, yearn for it, protect it, nurture it and pray for it to come to pass. It is your right, your due, your portion and, most important of all, it is the will of the Living God and He has decreed it.

Lose it not, ”for the vision is for an appointed time and, though it may tarry, it shall not fail or prove false”. Royal and noble is your blood, your spirit and your soul. You are excellent in all your ways and your gait is magnificent.

So regardless of whatever circumstances you find yourself in, always remember who you are, hold your head up high and let the peace, joy, strength and confidence of the Lord envelop you.

Wear that peace morning, day and night. Not the peace of the world which is premised on vanity, deceit, self-adulation and guile.

Not that hollow peace which is nurtured and sustained by carnal minds, reprobate thoughts and deviant philosophies but rather that inexplicable, mysterious, deeply profound and divine peace that the bible says ”passeth all understanding” and that comes only from deep intercession, from being hidden in Christ and from regular communion, interaction and fellowship with the Most High God.

Take that divine peace and cherish it. Take that confidence, strength and joy and let it fill you to the brim. Take that wealth and the fat of the land to which the Lord will add no sorrow.

And take that crown which He has bequethed to you even before the oracles of time. Like Esther, you are royalty and almost divine, though this was hidden from you by the peculiar circumstances of your humble origin and noble birth.

You were chosen carefully even before you were conceived in your mother’s womb by He that is the Creator of all things and that is the God of all flesh.

I therefore urge you to go forth into the world in confidence and in strength and play your divinely-ordained role in your nation’s history. Stand by your Lord and Master, the King, the beloved of the Lord and defy the arrows and distractions of the enemy and mere mortals. Let none deter you.

Let none overwhelm you. Let none cower you. Let none suppress, intimidate or silence you.

Always remember that greatness comes with a heavy price. Yet, whatever that price may be, do not be deterred for the Lord has already given you the land and all the fat that is in it.

I urge you to stand firm and take it. Loved deeply by many, you are unstoppable and unbeatable. You are my Precious: my joy, my pride, my strength and my hope.

You are everything that God wants you to be and that I have ever wanted in my life. Shine My Precious, shine: for the Lord is with you and He has blessed you in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

Never forsake or forget your favorite word and battle cry: ”fearless”. This is YOUR word and it is a powerful. It is filled with faith and strength. The Lord will surely honor it in your life.

You shall excel and prosper, you shall wear the crown, you shall sit on the iron throne, none shall come between us and I shall always love you. Shine My Precious, shine!

EKSUSU Election: SUG President, Aridiogo David, Released a Press Text

BEING A PRESIDENTIAL PRESS TEXT RELEASED ON THE JUST CONDUCTED EKSU STUDENTS' UNION ELECTION AND THE CONTROVERSIES THEREAFTER

Fellow Eksuites, I have decided to react to the various calls and threat messages that I have received after the just conducted Student's Union ELECTION, as a way of lending my voice to fellow students and the general public because of posterity.

I am doing this because of the innocent member of public or students who may ignorantly buy into their lies and may have a wrong impression about me or what transpired during, before and after the election.

They are active on Social media de-ranking the university name. Students have forgotten that they will still be the one to make use of the certificate, they are using the students challenges to get cheap popularity on Social media.

The election was conducted on August 3, 2017 under the leadership of our respected Dean of Students Prof. W. O. Adebayo and students came out in large numbers to cast their votes for their preferred candidates.

All I did as the President was to exercise my franchise just like every other students by voting for my candidate on that day. In the evening of Thursday, for reason I cannot fathom, the election result was not announced.

I tried to reach the Dean of Students and VC to know what went wrong but none of them were able to give me any response. Not until the Saturday day when, I was told by one the presidential aspirant that there were allegations of election irregularities during the electioneering period by some candidates and their agents and that the election cannot stand.

Students were outraged and angry but I tried to appeal to them not because I am afraid of protest but because I believe in peaceful resolution of conflict.

Also am not so that spft but due to fact that some students are clamoring for theirs exams to holds on Monday and for peace to continue to reign that is why I silent since on Friday.

Let the public know today that I Aridiogo David Olaitan aka Aruson supported Hardvize and worked for him tirelessly in this election and Sandra and other well meaning Nigerian students who supported him should bear witness to my claim.

Although, supporting hardvize does not mean that my support can single handedly guarantee his emergence since I am equally a student who is constrained by laws governing the University.

To me, I believe I have done the best I could do for him as a friend and fellow Comrade and that I supported Hardvize does not mean I hated Marcus or Bright or Ajiro. They are all my comrades and friends too. Unfortunately, politics is a game of interest.

We shall therefore not abdicate our responsibility with synergy to always work with all of you (Good and reasonable stakeholders) when the need arises in our collective aspirations to become one of the most vibrant students' union amongst others in all State Universities in Nigeria. This is our dream.

More importantly, I want to appreciate those who contested for various positions during the election. I say without equivocation that there was no victor and no vanquish.

OUR STAND STUDENTS

🎤Eksuites should remain calm and be patient as Eksu-Sug and stakeholder meet with the School management tomorrow Monday 06/08/2017 to demand for Declaration of the 2017/2018 SUG Election and also to gather vital information of 2016/2017 Examinations

🎤Entire Students' of Eksu appeal to the school management to pay off the staff of the university so that we will be able to Start our examinations this week.

MY ADVICE TO EKSU MANAGEMENT

Democracy as a system of government preaches freedom and electoral practices devoid of intimidation or any form of oppression. In view of this assumption, the University system anywhere in the world is expected to replicate this practice as a way of entrenching democratic culture among the students who are the leaders of tomorrow.

We hereby appeal to the University Management to quickly look into the issues surrounding the election and declare the winner.

MY ADVICE FOR THE STUDENTS

This is a trying period for us. I want to appeal to all of us to maintain our calm as we envisage a positive news from the school management on the result of the election and for vital information on when examination will holds.

Eksuites should please stay reduce the rate of making use of social media because history will tell on everyone of us and it will not have any effect on the school management, it will only have effect on us because we will be the one to make use of this certificate.

Hardvise, ajiro, Marcos and b-bright are friends and they will continue to be friends. So please don't let us create enemies between ourself. Thank you for usual co-operation and God bless you all.
I wish you all the very best in your exams.

MY ADVICE FOR EKSU ASUU, NASU, SSANU , NAAT

Our leaders, Lecturers Fathers, Mothers and teachers, we are pleading with all of you to show understanding with the school management even when we are not in support of nonpayment of your salaries. It is believed that the best approach now is to show cooperation so that Students in final year can graduate and Meet with next NYSC Batch.
I plead on behalf of Entire Students of Eksu you should consider us and let us write the examinations.
God bless you sir/ma.

Ekiti State University (EKSU) Students protest on social media as school management withholds the Student Union Government, SUG, election results. According to many of the students and Alumni of the school, the election which favoured Amoran Ilesanmi aka Hardvize has been refused to be declared because the "Government Candidate", Ajirotutu Olatunde aka Ajiro didn't win the election.

It was also reported to CloudGossips.Com that a day light armed rubbery was carried out after this event.

Most of the students lamented that things like this shouldn't have been heard about University where she is supposed to set the phase for education in the country.

According to one Kehinde, he reported as follows:

The election was held peacefully in EKSU on Thursday as students moved to Odua hall, the collation and announcement centre to hear the result only for the management to inform us that the result is inconclusive.

Meanwhile, rumours have it that the election was held inconclusive as government's candidate- Ajirotutu Olatunde a.k.a. Ajiro did not emerge as the winner.

As time went by, students collated the results themselves and it was discovered that Amoran Ilesanmi a.k.a. Hardvize won the election with over 2000 votes.

As it stands yesterday, Saturday, the management of the school has not attended to the students at the collation centre since Thursday.

So far, students are ready to boycott activities on Monday until justice is done.

Angry Letter To The Nigerian Youth (5): Our National Destiny Lie In Your Hands

Dear Nigerian Youth,

Looking around the contraption called Nigeria should bring you to tears and evoke outrage within your circle. You should tear your clothes and pour ashes on your head as you seek to be part of the solution but rather you're part of the problem. When you should be seeking answers, you're a significant part of the question. I have watched and read in utter dismay- not shock as you can't shock me anymore- as one group of youth after another celebrate their looters and oppressors. "In youth we learn, in age we understand", said Marie Von Ebner but I wonder if you learn anything at all. You fight for your looters and oppressors when you should fight against them. Is it any wonder then that Herbert Hoover said "Older men declare war but it is the youth that must fight and die"?

Youth Arise: A Movement of Ordinary Nigerians Doing Extraordinary Things

After reading this communique, I felt a strong force in me to support the vision with my blog and I decided to offer CloudGossips for the propagation of the Vision.

Read the communique below and get inspired.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE YOUTH ARISE MEETING HELD AT YARD 158, OREGUN, LAGOS ON 17TH DECEMBER 2016.

The meeting started at about 5:15 Nigeria time with taken of the second stanza of the national anthem as the opening prayers. The meeting was moderated by Babajide Kolawole from Ekiti State Nigeria.

Attendance during the meeting was a total number of 29 members who came across the states of Nigeria especially the South West, South South and Niger Delta. Jide Kolawole appreciated the members who came from Uyo, Benin and Delta State for their nation building sacrifice. Mr Kayode Osunnubi from Ogun State briefed the meeting about the imperative, ideology and the vision of the movement.

In his briefing, he x-rayed leadership in all African nation and gave the average age of African leaders to be 65years, he posited that leadership has failed in Africa especially Nigeria and that the older generation has had their share in leading the nation and has proved beyond doubt that they lack the ideas, zeal and patriotism to build a great nation.

Hence, the youth being the larger percentage of the nation must rise from their slumber and decide to rescue the nation from valley of bad governance. He emphasized that youth must come together irrespective of their religion, ethnicity and educational background to wrestle with the nations principalities and power to get our nation back from the backward thinking leaders that has seized the instrumentalities of power for a long period of time without any record of achievement.

He concluded that Youth Arise 2019 is not a platform formed by ambition or personal interest but a front for a more calculated youth participation with a vision not to support old politician but to support and front the introduction of young Nigerians with great idea, passion, strength, patriotism and zeal to deliver leadership devoid of personal interest but greatly motivated by the interest of the people and the mindset of heralding a great revolution of the mind that will change the political landscape of the country.

Olawale Kadri from Ekiti State was called by the moderator to brief the meeting on where we are. In his response he maintained that the nation has been

dragged into an abyss of humanistic regression through visionless and purposeless leadership and we have only two options to choose from, either to seat down and continue to watch while complaining and wailing especially on the social media or stand up and fight to bequeath of children a better nation. He said that we have decided to back our words with action and the revolution is already starting. He posited that since we don’t have the weapon to win a war, we can win an election if we strategically position ourselves to wrestle power and connect with all other youths in the country.

He said we are more than them, and we can win them (referring to the old generation leaders) Currently we are extending the movement to our friends across all other geo-political zones and the report has been overwhelming, he stressed that Kano and Abuja comrades who believed in the ideas and ideology of the movement has started mobilizing and we shall start visiting each state to meet with other young Nigerian with the intention of extending the frontiers of the movement.

Kolawole Babajide buttressed further that while we are creating awareness and meeting people to extend the frontier of the movement, we’ll continue to engage in value addition activities by training the youths, educating them and empowering them to be self reliance through skill acquisition programmes and solution focused event.

The floor was opened for opinion and good will messages and members gave suggestions and opinion to move the organization forward.

DECISION EXTRACT:
1. That Youth Arise must engage in mass awareness and extension drive through communication of the movement ideology, ideas, vision and programmes to the larger society
2. Visitations to States where youth has shown interest starting from Oyo State, Abuja and Kano in the first quarter of next year.
3. That campus activation of revolutionary mind must start in earnest.
4. That we must always publicly identify with the yearnings and aspiration of the people through our actions and programmes.
5. That personal interest must not be our driving force but the general interest of the Nigerian people through provision of policy alternatives and outline a blue print for the movement in preparation for leadership.
6. That a social media platforms be created to further acclimatize people with our ideology, ideas and visions.
7. That we must engage every means possible to support the not too young bill until it becomes law
8. That consultation to join a political party where we can build together must start in earnest as we cannot get political power without political platform. However such platform must be a platform where we’ll join in building from the scratch as youth may not be able to compete with the money bags, corrupt Nigerians and old generation in all the already established political parties.
9. That we must get a legal consultant to handle our litigations
10. That we must be ready to sacrifice all for the revolution ahead as it may means some night in police net, some bullets in some chest and some days, month, years in the jail.

The meeting therefore collapsed into round table get to know better and discussions. The meeting was adjourned till a date to be announced and in Ibadan, Oyo State, after adjournment motion had been validly moved.

Please note this is not a minute of the meeting but a communiqué and decision extract.

Signed: All members present.

My Mother's Beatings and A Practical Guide To Beating Recession-Bayo Adeyinka

The only time I ever hawked in my life was 1984. Even though my family could be classified as middle class at that time, things had become tough. My mum got a bag of what was called 'Iyan Buhari' (Buhari's pounded yam), re-bagged it into smaller packages and bowls, put them on a tray and I hawked them around our neighborhood. I still remember how I shouted, 'E ra'yan Buhari o' (please buy Buhari's pounded yam). 'Iyan Buhari' was a substitute for those who couldn't afford pounded yam again. It was actually poorly made 'poundo yam' flour at that time. For those who are surprised that tea without milk is now called Buhari while garri and groundnut have now been christened Buhari and Osibajo, this is not the first time something negative or below accepted societal standard is named after Buhari. It is simply history repeating itself.

Ojudu and his intolerance for contrary opinions  by Bola Agboola

Someone sent this on a group I'm on Whatsapp. Could this be true? Give your opinion at the end of the post in the comment box.

Ekiti Sons and Daughters' is one of the numerous Whatsapp platforms where bright minds of Ekiti extraction but different political ideology or background are gathered to chat course for t he development of the state vis-a-viz  happenings in the polity. Reputable politicians, captain of industries, movers and shakers of Ekiti and to some extent, Nigeria constitute membership of this Noble platform.

As obtainable in this group on daily basis, Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor, Lere Olayinka like every other member of the group posted last night a statement detailing  alleged plan by some Ekiti sons, led by Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Self-Acclaimed Human Rights Activist, Barr. Femi Falana, some police officials from Alagbon, Lagos to invade Ekiti State on Monday,10th of July, 2016 to effect the arrest of some prominent PDP members in the state.

Reactions trailed the statement, some against, others in favour.  A member of the platform Ayan Kolawole commented that "These vicious cycles of disruptive clandestine adventures in our state should stop! Our people are the ultimate victims of the debacles. Enough is enough".

Nigeria Immigration Service dispersed 2000 trained officers after recruitment: join the campaign against this

The dispersal of 2000 officers that were
recently recruited into the Nigerian Immigration service has shown to the world what Nigerian politics is about, promise everything during campaign and deliver nothing when sworn into office. No wonder Ronald Reagan described government as a baby-a long alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.

There were many campaign promises made to the Nigerian youths: employment, empowerment and integration into the Nigerian economy.

Professor Wole Soyinka once said that “The Nigerian youth is dead at birth”. This is true as government cannot provide jobs but they can afford to get as many youths as possible for political thuggery and other electioneering purposes. Both the university degrees and the professional certificates are not enough to secure a job, recruitment into government jobs has been by slots, if you are not connected, you can not be hired.

Must Read: next EKSU SUG election: way forward

The last Ekiti State University Students' Union Election was a kind that broke the bones of many contestants including their followers. So many predictions, under-fights, 'paspels' and so on took place. But at the end, one thing happened; the election went peacefully and the higher percentage of the students were satisfied with the outcome, if not all.

Joy it - Get refreshed by reading this article by Femi Ibitoye

The year is finally at the tail end. I know you had expectations, wishes and desires that topped your list since the beginning of the year. Some actually have become testimony and some seems as if God is not giving ears to them- and they seem to be the tough ones. Disappointments, broken heart, failed promises and all of it gather to make it seem as if you are off the track.
